Tim Purcell’s Bio
As an experienced and innovative ICT Management Professional, happily living in Australia’s National Capital, Canberra, I’ve found that work takes place in many arenas – in cafes, in offices and during the many networking functions (that Canberra does so very well).
My professional life started in the Royal Military College Duntroon and took me through a time of growth and development in the Australian Army.
After the Army, my career continued to build in the telecommunications industry both in Europe and Australia/NZ, and was growing in the ever evolving ICT arena where I have been lucky enough to have worked with some of the largest ICT companies in the industry.
During my working life, I have been fortunate enough to have worked and travelled to over 40 countries and to live in Europe, New Zealand and Australia – developing a wide and diverse network of contacts and resources that I have worked hard to maintain.

I was honoured to have been awarded Knight 1st Class of the Order of the White Rose of Finland in October 2008, at a ceremony at Parliament House.
The Knighthood was awarded for my work and follow through of bilateral talks held between the Australian and Finnish Governments and for Business and Academia in the area of Innovation. This effort was driven by the Official Visit to Australia by the Finnish President and at the time I held the positions of President of the Finland Australia Chamber of Commerce and as a Board Member of the Australian European Business Council.
Again in 2008, I was honoured to have been awarded a Commanders Commendation for work in the Australian Defence Force as a former regular Army officer serving in an Army Reserve capacity.
